Unit 6 Creating Wellness
Hi everyone! The exercise process was to repeat certain phrases over and over. This was to help me to be able to believe that I may be able to help myself and others find health, happiness and wholeness. The assessment process allows us to look deep within ourselves to see what is causing us difficulties and suffering. This look enables us to care for those issues and free ourselves from them. I've found that I often times take on more than I can handle. I have decided that I will focus on only those things that are the most important at that time. Limiting the things on my plate and focusing on fewer things would release my stress. For me, breathing and learning to say "no" would greatly help me in increasing my health. I also use my piano to release and refocus. If it wasn't for my piano, I would be a stressed out mess.

It is great and a gift to have a talent, hobby or the mental fortitude to escape into the mind and its infinite universe when met with overwhelming stress and overextensions. You have the controls and are in control of your nays and yeas. Is it good you recognize your vulnerabilities and seek to remedy those tendencies? Focus and attention towards the most pressing issues is intention at its finest and can steer you in the direction of your choosing. I don’t play the piano, so I am highly impressed with your ability. I will give it a try on my IPad using a app keyboard. Let’s see what happens. Good luck to you!
ReplyDeleteHi Bill,
DeleteIt is on my most stressed days that the music flows the best on my piano. I often find a new song written by the time I finish releasing my stress. I hope you are able to find something that works the best for you.
I totally agree with you both. I have my hobby of making jewelry that I use to distract myself from the outside world and it's venom. This year I have also realized how important it is to just stay home and get immediate things done, while putting less important things aside; this is something I never used to do. I have also come to realize that I try to do too many things all at once, and it's hard on the body and mind. I think coming to terms with letting things go is something we should all learn.
ReplyDeleteHi Tabitha, that is so graeat that you can use music to relieve stress. It sounds like this allows you to free your mind of randon thoughts by concentrating on playing the piano. What a nice way to distract your mind ! I also agree that we all need to learn to say no more often and not take something on if our plate is too full. Good luck with the rest of your studies.

Hello Tabitha
ReplyDeleteI know this class is teaching health and wellness but I find it a bit difficult to slow down because there is so much going on. I am always thinking what next I have to do . I know I don't take the time I am suppose to to go through each exercise but I also feel like my plate is also full. I am always try to help some one and leaving my self out in the process. But sometime I just can say no to people I am always trying to help someone.
Maria
Hi Tabitha,
ReplyDeleteI to believe that exercise was to help us look deeper and that was done by two phrases be repeated in two different focuses. Once respected was from the individual themselves and in the other perspective was from us meaning I. I like the sense of trying to minimize the amount of things to focus: will help us to become grounded I to believe the same thing.
